Originated in 2015
In summer semester 2015 I took part in a course called „clear mystification“ by Gregor Kuschmirz. It was actually the first time I got in contact with the term “compositing” via After Effects.
In a very soon state of the project, I figured out that this kind of work was definitely one, which suited me and which challenged my personal and creative skills. Since this was my first project which I had to do for my own, I was, at the beginning, very nervous, when it came to the implementation of the project. Nevertheless, I soon realised that it was stupid to be nervous, as the new situation was, at the same time, a new challenge which I was content to face.
First of all, I began to think about the story I wanted to tell, drew a first storyboard, began to establish moodboards and, after that, discarded the former story to start all over again. What was clear from the beginning was the fact, that I wanted to play with time in my film.
When I finally decided, that I wanted to create a live-action short film, had found actors and a setting, I began, to crate raw material for my film.
In the post-production I worked with a lot of masks, to create the special situation I had in mind, in which the time should go crazy. Furthermore I did some colour grading to give the film its special looks.
The short film is about different persons who are at the same place at the same time, but actually are not there at the same time. It therefore plays with time, which goes either very slow, very fast, simply forward and backward or different things at the same time. The difficult part with this project was the fact, that the people are operating with each other, even though they were not there together, when I filmed the raw material.
